Bellevue East faced Gretna in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Chieftains had just enough and edged out the Dragons 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Chieftains, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Bellevue East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karleigh Rowley, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Rowley has posted since back in August.

Bellevue East's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Gretna, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
