Softball Recap: Ames Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwest, Ames was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Fort Dodge Dodgers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory on June 9th.

Ames is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Dodge, their loss dropped their record down to 22-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Dodgers beat Ames by a score of 3-0 later that day.
