Soccer Recap: Athens Academy Victorious

Athens Academy was handed a five-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They beat the Rabun County Wildcats by a goal, winning 1-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Athens Academy as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Athens Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Rabun County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Athens Academy and Rabun County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Spartans see the pitch they'll take on Tallulah Falls at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Rabun County, their break will end when they face Habersham Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
