Baseball Recap: Veterans Comes Up Short

Veterans came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-9 to the Peach County Trojans. If the Warhawks were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Veterans has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Peach County, the win (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 27-2.

Coming up, Veterans will face off against West Laurens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Peach County, they will square off against Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
