Softball Recap: Langston Hughes Comes Up Short

Langston Hughes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to the McIntosh Chiefs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 18-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Jaila Meredith was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Langston Hughes' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for McIntosh, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Langston Hughes is set to face off against their familiar foe Banneker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, McIntosh will challenge rival Northgate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
