Recap: Aptos Mariners vs. Mills Vikings
The Aptos Mariners lost against the Mills Vikings back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Aptos fell 47-36 to Mills. Aptos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Mariners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabby Wickham, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The match was Wickham's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian McGee, who scored seven points.
Aptos has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Mills, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aptos and Scotts Valley will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Scotts Valley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Mills' road trip will continue as they head out to face Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Live Oak's defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Mills' offense will have their work cut out for Mills.
