Basketball Recap: Forest Hills Comes Up Short

Forest Hills and Lansdale Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Forest Hills had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders 62-25. The Rangers were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than 55 points in the four games prior), but the Crusaders' defense proved too tough.

Several Rangers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eva Myers, who posted four points. Myers is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played. Morgan Gdula was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Forest Hills' loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Lansdale Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Forest Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lansdale Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-29 victory against Oakland Catholic on the 15th.
