Soccer Game Preview: Ann Sobrato vs. Silver Creek

The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs will challenge the Silver Creek Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Ann Sobrato is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Evergreen Valley on Tuesday. Ann Sobrato came up short against Evergreen Valley, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bulldogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Silver Creek's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christopher on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Cougars are ranked 217th).

Ann Sobrato's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3-2. As for Silver Creek, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5-1.

Ann Sobrato was able to grind out a solid win over Silver Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2020, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ann Sobrato since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
