Basketball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors, falling 56-35. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1022nd, while the Conquerors are ranked 488th).

Hannah Shaver was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 18 boards for Desert Christian Academy. With that strong performance, Shaver is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Mia Aceituno was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Hamilton now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Desert Christian Academy, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School the next time they take the court. Hamilton will host Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Desert Christian Academy will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
