Basketball Game Preview: San Clemente Tritons vs. Laguna Beach Breakers

Having just played yesterday, the San Clemente Tritons will jump right back in to play the Laguna Beach Breakers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Clemente's tournament run continued when they took on Tesoro on Wednesday. The Tritons put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 71-51 win. The Tritons haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Laguna Beach won against Brea Olinda on Monday with 45 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Breakers managed a 45-41 win over Valencia.

San Clemente better focus on containing Fiona McCormick and Lakelyn Welch as the pair were huge in Laguna Beach's win. McCormick posted 20 points, while Welch put up 16 points. Those 16 points gave Welch a new career-high.

San Clemente's record now sits at 2-0. As for Laguna Beach, their record is now an identical 2-0.

Everything came up roses for San Clemente against Laguna Beach in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, as the squad secured a 64-16 victory. Do the Tritons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Breakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
