Clay has gone a perfect 9-0 against St. Augustine recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Clay Blue Devils will be playing at home against the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Clay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Clay had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Canterbury on Saturday. Clay's pitcher stepped up to hand Canterbury a 15-0 shutout. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Devils yet this season.
Sadie Russo looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk).

At the plate, Hailie Miera was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Malia Collins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Clay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, St. Augustine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to Menendez.
St. Augustine saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alana Heilman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.
Clay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. St. Augustine's loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Clay's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. Clay has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for St. Augustine, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Clay continue to outrun the ball?
Clay took their win against St. Augustine in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3. Will Clay repeat their success, or does St. Augustine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
