Softball Recap: Sutter Comes Up Short

Sutter lost to Dixon back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Huskies fell 20-17 to the Rams.

Liliana Speakman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Kaylee Logan was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Sutter's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7-1. As for Dixon, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Sutter will take on Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.47 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dixon, they will face off against Natomas at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams are facing the Nighthawks at the right time seeing as the Nighthawks are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
