Soccer Game Preview: Classical Academy vs. Oceanside

The Classical Academy Caimans will head out on the road to face off against the Oceanside Pirates at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Classical Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Classical Academy fell victim to Scripps Ranch and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Oceanside managed to keep up with Mission Hills until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Oceanside came up short against Mission Hills, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now lost four in a row.

Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-2. As for Oceanside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Classical Academy's way against Oceanside when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as Classical Academy made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Classical Academy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
