Basketball Recap: Hailey Moy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lick-Wilmerding over Arcata

Lick-Wilmerding saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell 57-50 to the Arcata Tigers.

Lick-Wilmerding's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hailey Moy, who posted eight points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Sapalo, who earned 11 points.

Moy wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lick-Wilmerding was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arcata only racked up six assists.

It was another big night for Mae Wolford, who had 23 points along with five boards and three steals for Arcata. Wolford continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayleah Jackson, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.

Lick-Wilmerding now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Arcata, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Lick-Wilmerding didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-47 win against Saint Mary's on the 4th. As for Arcata, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-58 loss against Pleasant Valley on the 4th.
