Soccer Game Preview: Postville vs. Turkey Valley

The Postville Pirates will take on the Turkey Valley Trojans at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Turkey Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Postville, who comes in off a win.

Postville's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on MFL MarMac with a sharp 4-0 win. Postville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Turkey Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 10-0 to North Fayette Valley. While losing is never fun, Turkey Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 194th, while North Fayette Valley are ranked 29th).

Postville pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Turkey Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
