Basketball Recap: Valley Center's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Valley Center lost against Escondido Charter back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Valley Center Jaguars lost 55-29 to the Escondido Charter Tigers. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.

It was another big night for Kami Gillis, who posted 21 points along with seven boards and six steals for Escondido Charter. Gillis' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of CC Goss, who earned five points and 11 rebounds.

Valley Center's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4. As for Escondido Charter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Valley Center wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-42 defeat against Classical Academy on the 16th. As for Escondido Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-52 loss against Montgomery on the 14th.
