Baseball Recap: Camp Hill Victorious

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Camp Hill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Newport Buffaloes 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now won four in a row.

Jonathan Drawbaugh made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 16 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Shamash, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Camp Hill: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Griffin Gassner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Camp Hill now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Newport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

As of now, neither Camp Hill nor the Buffaloes have any future games scheduled.
