Basketball Game Preview: Coventry Christian vs. Christian School of York

Coventry Christian and Christian School of York will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row dating back to last season, Coventry Christian turned things around against Alliance Christian on Friday. They really took it to the Gryphons for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-15 victory. Coventry Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Coventry Christian found their leader in sophomore Kayla Tinkey, who posted 15 points. The dominant performance gave Tinkey a new career-high in points. Evie Gregory was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Christian School of York had to endure a nine-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Lititz Christian with a 36-31 win on Friday.

Christian School of York's win came from a few key players Coventry Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Vivian Brown, who put up eight points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cally Carpenter, who had ten points and four steals.

Christian School of York's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Coventry Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
