Basketball Game Preview: Weldon Valley Warriors vs. Kit Carson Wildcats + How To Watch

The Weldon Valley Warriors will square off against the Kit Carson Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Weldon Valley is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Caliche on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors took a blow against the Buffaloes, falling 71-39. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kit Carson kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Walsh by a score of 26-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since February 8th.

Despite the loss, Kit Carson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Levi Mayhan posted 12 points.

Weldon Valley now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Kit Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Weldon Valley suffered a grim 56-32 defeat to Kit Carson in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
