Softball Recap: Harrah Comes Up Short

Harrah extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 10-10. They lost 8-0 to the Kiefer Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since September 2nd.

As for Kiefer, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Kiefer's part, Addison Dossett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Dossett has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games.

In other batting news, Rhyan Counts and Maleigha Presley did most of the damage at the plate: Counts went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Presley went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Presley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Khloe Vinson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Harrah has already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Atoka on the 11th. As for Kiefer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-4 victory against Southmoore on the 11th.
