Softball Recap: Poplar Bluff's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If Poplar Bluff was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of West Plains on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mules fell just short of the Chaffee Red Devils by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. The Mules' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Molly Eason and Lillie Johnson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Eason went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Johnson went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Molly Murphy also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Poplar Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chaffee, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3.

As of now, neither Poplar Bluff nor the Red Devils have any future games scheduled.
