Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Willow Glen Rams
Lincoln is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Willow Glen is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lincoln Lions will take on the Willow Glen Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Lincoln had to settle for a 53-51 defeat against Leigh.
Meanwhile, Willow Glen stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Piedmont Hills 59-35. Given Willow Glen's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Piedmont Hills is ranked 945th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Natalia Valerio was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Okumura, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Willow Glen, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
