Basketball Game Preview: Linfield Christian Lions vs. Aquinas Falcons

Linfield Christian is 1-9 against Aquinas since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Linfield Christian Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Aquinas Falcons at 6:00 p.m.

Linfield Christian is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Arrowhead Christian.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Charli Calas, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Caden Johnson, who posted 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Even though they lost, Linfield Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 19 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Aquinas had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past San Bernardino with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 41-26.

Linfield Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Linfield Christian was dealt a bruising 69-8 defeat at the hands of Aquinas when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Linfield Christian, Breanna Bates (who put up 19 points along with seven boards and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
