Basketball Recap: Del Campo Takes a Loss

Del Campo lost against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Del Campo Cougars fell to the Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves 43-39.

Despite the loss, Del Campo still got an impressive performance from Zenallah Hatcher-Simmons, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Hatcher-Simmons is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Mira Rommelfanger, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Del Campo was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Vidhi Rana continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, dropping a triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals. Rana has become a key player for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy: the team is 10-3 when she posts at least eight boards, but 4-6 otherwise. Caia Salgado was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Del Campo dropped their record down to 7-18 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, their record is now 14-9.
