Soccer Game Preview: Leland vs. Gilroy

The Leland Chargers will square off against the Gilroy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leland will be strutting in after a victory while Gilroy will be coming in after a defeat.

Leland is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Piedmont Hills a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Leland hit Piedmont Hills with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aylin Altinel (2), Annika Park, Mili Fisher, and Taytem Condit.

Meanwhile, Gilroy has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 9. They fell just short of Branham by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Leland's victory bumped their record up to 8-2-5. As for Gilroy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2.

Leland beat Gilroy by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 1-0. Will Leland repeat their success, or does Gilroy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
