Recap: Athens Wildcats vs. North Penn-Mansfield Tigers
The Athens Wildcats were the 47-20 winner over the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Athens took a 25-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Penn-Mansfield. Athens has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Penn-Mansfield found their leader in underclassman Kameron Lightner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lightner has scored at least 25% of North Penn-Mansfield's points.
Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for North Penn-Mansfield, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens will square off against North Penn-Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Penn-Mansfield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wellsville at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th.
