Soccer Game Preview: North Salinas vs. North Monterey County

The North Salinas Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the North Monterey County Condors at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

North Monterey County will have to contend with a North Salinas squad hungry for a victory, something the team hasn't seen since December 16. North Salinas and Monte Vista Christian finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, North Monterey County hadn't done well against Pacific Collegiate recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. North Monterey County's defense stepped up to hand Pacific Collegiate a 3-0 shutout. The Condors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

North Monterey County pushed their record up to 10-2-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those six contests. With that draw, North Salinas' record moves to 1-8-1.
