Basketball Recap: Novato Comes Up Short

If Novato was riding high fresh off their 45-20 takedown of San Rafael last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Novato Hornets had to suffer through a 62-19 loss at the hands of the Redwood Giants. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Giants are ranked 124th).

Novato moved to 11-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Redwood, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Novato and Las Lomas will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Redwood, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Montgomery at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Redwood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
