Basketball Recap: San Pasqual Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

San Pasqual Valley lost to El Capitan back in December of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The San Pasqual Valley Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the El Capitan Eagles 31-28. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly three points.

San Pasqual Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reana Steele out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Daeja Villicana, who posted eight points, to go along with seven rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why El Capitan lost, don't look at Samantha Hammon. Despite the final result, she put up 11 points and three steals. Hammon is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Aiyana Hammon was another key player, putting up five points and five boards.

The win was the third in a row for San Pasqual Valley, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points per game. As for El Capitan, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

San Pasqual Valley will square off against Bagdad at 4:00 p.m. on December 13th. As for El Capitan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-36 victory against Ash Fork on the 7th.
