Football Preview: Covenant Christian Cougars vs. Trinity Christian Eagles
Covenant Christian is 6-1 against Trinity Christian since November of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Covenant Christian will be strutting in after a win while Trinity Christian will be coming in after a loss.
Covenant Christian is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Covenant last Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 34-22 victory over the Knights. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

A big part of Covenant Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Peyton Jankowski and his top target Aaron Turner. Jankowski threw for 286 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt while Turner picked up 157 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 157 receiving yards gave Turner a new career-high.
Covenant Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Turner and Ryan Uszynski.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 56-7 loss at the hands of Pantego Christian. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Covenant Christian, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4.
Everything came up roses for Covenant Christian against Trinity Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 54-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
