Recap: Castle Park Trojans vs. Mar Vista Mariners
The Castle Park Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mar Vista. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Castle Park in their matchups with Mar Vista: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Castle Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ahliah Samaniego. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points.
Mar Vista found their leader in underclassman Anissa Smith, who scored 13 points. Aaliyah Temcho was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Castle Park has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Mar Vista, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sweetwater the next time they take the court. Mar Vista will host Sweetwater at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Castle Park will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
