Basketball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were dealt a 60-17 defeat at the hands of the Salado Eagles. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Elgin and nudges their season record down to 6-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 Austin Royals HomeSchool (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.3% over those games). As for Salado, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Elgin has already played their next game, a 52-29 loss against Austin Royals HomeSchool on the 4th. As for Salado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-31 victory against Krum on the 4th.
