Softball Game Preview: Westwood Wildcats vs. Crisp Academy Wildcats

Westwood is 0-10 against Crisp Academy since September of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. Westwood will venture away from home to face off against Crisp Academy at 6:00 p.m. Neither Westwood nor Crisp Academy posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Westwood fell victim to Southwest Georgia Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 14-0.

Southland Academy hit Crisp Academy with a four-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 8-0 to the Raiders. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Crisp Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laura Evans, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Crisp Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Westwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Westwood suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Crisp Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Westwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
