Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sayre). They breezed by the Galeton Tigers to the tune of 46-13 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Redskins as it put an end to their 11-game losing streak.
Sayre's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbie McGaughey, who posted 20 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave McGaughey a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Hunter, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds.
Sayre smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
