Softball Recap: Mason City Comes Up Short

Mason City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the St. Edmond Gaels, falling 18-3.

Mason City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for St. Edmond, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mason City will square off against Waterloo East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Edmond, they will head out to square off against Algona at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gaels 3.6, the Bulldogs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
