Baseball Game Preview: Jenkins Warriors vs. Groves Rebels

Jenkins has gone a perfect 10-0 against Groves recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Jenkins Warriors will host the Groves Rebels at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Friday, Jenkins made easy work of New Hampstead and carried off a 16-1 win.

Jenkins got a massive performance out of DJ Rohan, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Rohan is becoming a predictor of Jenkins' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Marquis Bush was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

Jenkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Groves waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Atomsmashers as they made off with a 13-1 victory.

Jenkins is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.4 hits in those games compared to only 5.2 in the others. The win got Groves back to even at 3-3.

Jenkins took their victory against Groves in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 20-2. Does Jenkins have another victory up their sleeve, or will Groves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
