Volleyball Recap: Reagan Raiders vs. Marvin Ridge Mavericks

Reagan and Marvin Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Reagan had to settle for second. They came up short against the Marvin Ridge Mavericks, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Raiders seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

While Reagan was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-13, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Reagan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Klaire Weiss had three digs and 22 assists. Weiss has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marvin Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katie Meewes, who had 11 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Perkins, who had 12 digs.

With the defeat, Reagan broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 33-6. As for Marvin Ridge, they pushed their record up to 34-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home.

Reagan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marvin Ridge has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Cardinal Gibbons on the 2nd.
