Soccer Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding vs. Urban

The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Urban Blues at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lick-Wilmerding fell victim to University and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Urban kept a clean sheet against San Domenico on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Panthers. Given the Blues' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Panthers are ranked 687th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Urban is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those seven games. As for Lick-Wilmerding, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Lick-Wilmerding came up short against Urban in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 4-2. Can Lick-Wilmerding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
