E.E. Smith and Douglas Byrd are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Golden Bulls will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. E.E. Smith will be strutting in after a victory while Douglas Byrd will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, E.E. Smith made easy work of Westover and carried off a 9-3 win. The Golden Bulls haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Douglas Byrd was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 16-2 to St. Pauls. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Douglas Byrd saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Callahan, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

E.E. Smith's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Douglas Byrd, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
