Preview: Beaumont United Timberwolves vs. North Shore Mustangs

Beaumont United is 8-1 against North Shore since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Beaumont United Timberwolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Shore Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. Beaumont United has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Beaumont United can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They breezed by Humble at home to the tune of 96-50. Given Beaumont United's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Humble is ranked 591st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beaumont United had a senior duo take command as Clarence Payia dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds and Weston Davis dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Williams, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, North Shore earned a 39-29 victory over Kingwood on Wednesday. The victory was just what North Shore needed coming off of a 67-37 defeat in their prior match.

Beaumont United's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-3. As for North Shore, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-17.

Beaumont United was able to grind out a solid victory over North Shore when the teams last played back in January, winning 60-49. Will Beaumont United repeat their success, or does North Shore have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
