Mead took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Grand Junction, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mavericks won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 6-5. This was payback for the Mavericks, who suffered a 14-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mead's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Mowers, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Ari Tovar, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

The win got Mead back to even at 1-1. As for Grand Junction, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Mead has already played their next matchup, a 14-7 defeat against Rocky Mountain on the 23rd. Grand Junction has also already played their next game (against Discovery Canyon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
