It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the North Pole Patriots 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Wolf Pack in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.

Elias Powell made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Powell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Eli Taylor was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Mason Poulsen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

West Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

West Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-4-1. As for North Pole, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

West Valley will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Lathrop at 6:30 p.m. The Malemutes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Wolf Pack will no doubt try to take advantage of. North Pole does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
