Soccer Game Preview: Los Gatos vs. Homestead

The Los Gatos Wildcats will square off against the Homestead Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Los Gatos is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mountain View just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. Neither they nor the Spartans could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Wildcats happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Homestead fell victim to Archbishop Mitty and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 6-0 to the Monarchs. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Monarchs are ranked 11th).

Los Gatos' draw makes their record 7-2-4 this season. As for Homestead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-4.
