Soccer Game Preview: St. Joseph Academy vs. Mainland

The St. Joseph Academy Flashes will challenge the Mainland Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Joseph Academy has three straight victories, Mainland has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

St. Joseph Academy's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Englewood. The result was nothing new for the Flashes, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Englewood with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hayleah Bagnato (2), Angelina Hemelt (2), Amy Bowler (2), and Belle Alford (2).

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Mainland's offense. They came up short against University on Monday, falling 3-0.

St. Joseph Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Mainland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
