Softball Recap: Milford Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Freeman, Milford was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the York Dukes by a score of 6-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Dukes on Saturday, they had to take a 9-2 loss.

Delaney Carraher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyla Troyer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August of 2024.

Milford's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for York, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Milford will take on Fairbury at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Jeffs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for York, they will square off against Adams Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.55 runs per game on average), something the Dukes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
