Basketball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Point Arena

Point Arena had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-34 victory over the Tomales Braves. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Point Arena was led to victory by Jayde Swan and Hattie Piper. Swan posted 22 points, while Piper put up 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Clark, who earned 11 points.

Despite the loss, Tomales still got an impressive performance from Avrie Wilson, who scored 15 points. That was a full 44.1% of Tomales' points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gianna Bordessa, who posted eight points.

Point Arena's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Tomales, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
