Preview: Abington Galloping Ghosts vs. Central Bucks East Patriots
The Abington Galloping Ghosts will head out on the road to square off against the Central Bucks East Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Abington will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Saturday, Abington strolled past George School with points to spare, taking the game 64-49. Given Abington's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while George School is ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks East didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Pennsbury on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 43-39 victory.
Abington pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Central Bucks East, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Abington opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-57 defeat to Central Bucks East. Can Abington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
