Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Knights vs. Troy Warriors

The Foothill Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Troy Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Foothill beat El Modena 36-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Meanwhile, Troy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Mariners 57-11. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Mariners are ranked 959th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troy is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Foothill, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Foothill came up short against Troy in their previous matchup back in March of 2015, falling 44-38. Can Foothill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
