Soccer Recap: Merced Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Merced was not quite Golden Valley's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Golden Valley Cougars by a score of 1-0. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Merced's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Golden Valley, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Merced will welcome Atwater at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Golden Valley, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against El Capitan at 5:45 p.m. Golden Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
