Softball Game Preview: Brunswick Pirates vs. Charlton County Indians

For the second straight game, Brunswick will face off against Charlton County. The Pirates will head out to challenge the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Brunswick took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Charlton County, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since September 26, 2024.

For Charlton County's part, Christiona Farmer made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Farmer is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Callie Carter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Charlton County and nudges their season record down to 2-2-1. As for Brunswick, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Brunswick came out on top in a nail-biter against Charlton County in their previous meeting on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
